Shooting trips, gun transport and storage

For some years now I have enjoyed an association with William Evans gun and rifle makers on St James Street, London SW1 and out at Bisley shooting ground. After a hectic Summer schedule, mostly in and around London, I welcome the onset of Autumn and the annual pilgrimage by mostly Canadian clients to the many shooting estates in some of the most scenic landscapes of the British Isles. I particularly enjoy trips to Wales where the ‘Guns’ often base themselves in a quaint hotel in the Welsh countryside just a short Land Rover ride away from the shooting Estate. After a day’s shooting in the surrounding hills the group gather for enjoyable social evenings joined by some of the local guns and beaters to discuss the day’s bag.

One highlight of any shooting trip for me as someone that enjoys dogs is visits to the gun dog kennels to say hello to the many Labradors and Spaniels associated with the sport. In order to transport and store client’s shotguns I hold a Shotgun Certificate. I have access to a gun safe for occasions when it is not possible to return the shotguns to the gunroom.
