West End Shopping

For many no visit to London would be complete without a spot of West End shopping.

Our famous Knightsbridge stores Harrods and Harvey Nichols can be combined with Sloane Street on which you will find Gucci, Prada, Armani, Berluti and many of the stores otherwise associated with Bond Street.

Old Bond Street is home to jewellers Graff, Tiffany and Asprey and includes one of two Ralph Lauren stores, Versace, D&G and Channel. Nearby are the Burlington and Piccadily Arcades,  Saville Row, Fortnum and Mason, Jermyn Street and Hatchards one of our better book stores.

New Bond Street has Fenwicks, Smythsons, Armani, Hermes and Louis Vuitton. Oxford Street offers a mile of shopping with Selfridges, John Lewis, M&S, HMV, Debenhams and Top Shop. Late night shopping is Thursday. There is a 24 hour chemist on Marble Arch but one of London’s best Chemist is Bell & Croydon on Wigmore Street. Regent Street includes the world’s largest toy shop Hamley’s and the Apple Store.

If you are in London on a Saturday morning Portobello Road antiques market may appeal. If it is a particulalry wet day an alternative and somewhere to shop in the dry is the large Westfield or Brent Cross shopping centres.

If the idea of mixing some shopping with a day out appeals there is the Bicester Outlet Village near Oxford which offers end of range and Sale products of many of the famous West End stores. Your savings may cover your visit to nearby Oxford or Blenheim Palace.

Bicester Village is home to over 130 designer outlet boutiques set around delightful open-air pedestrianised streets, offering up to 60 per cent off previous seasons’ collections from the world’s leading fashion and lifestyle brand names including, Anya Hindmarch, Aquascutum, Ted Baker, Church’s, Bally, Pringle of Scotland, DKNY, Salvatore Ferragamo, Samsonite, Ermenegildo Zegna and Hugo Boss.
